My First Time Rock Climbing

One day I was at home and I was bored, I didn't know what to do. My cousin was back in town, for the weekend from school. He told me that he was going to go rock climbing and if I wanted to come. My parents were out of town and my sisters had to go to work. So I said yes because it was better than staying home alone with nothing to do. I don't like heights so I thought it was gonna be scary. When I looked up I said "Its not THAT high", I changed my mind pretty quickly though. I was going up fast and it was fun. When I was up there I felt great and then I looked down. I felt like I was so high up and I didn't want to come back down. I kept building up the courage and then it just kept fading away. Then finally I jumped down I went down smoothly and It felt so cool. We kept climbing the different walls and levels. I kept going rock climbing with my cousin and I was getting better. We had been going for a couple of months when I wanted to do the hardest wall. We got to the tallest wall, it was forty-five feet tall. I wanted to climb it, I wasn't  scared of the height, but that I would get to tired to make it all the way up. I was near the top and had to jump to a hanging grip. So I had nowhere to put my feet and was hanging. I had to try and swing across to another one though. I went for the next one, then I was falling. I swung to the wall and I hit it. I went down pretty far, but I had hurt my knee. I kept climbing until I was at the hanging part again. Instead of going for them I jumped off the all to the other side. I almost missed but I grabbed a hold and hung on. I climbed to the top, but I had to keep stopping to rest. When I came backdown I just lied down on the floor for like five minutes to get my strength back.

Getting My Dog

About four years ago I got a dog. It was almost Christmas and I really wanted a dog. I told my parents I wanted one for Christmas. On Christmas Eve my sisters came home around 8:00 P.M. When I saw what they had I was instantly overjoyed. It was a golden retriever mix, but I don't know the other dog. It was a boy and he was kind of small, not tiny just small. I named him Buddy and I didn't want to leave him to sleep. So I snuck him into my bed when my mom was in her room. He is allowed in the house, but not on the beds or couches. I woke up to him licking my face on Christmas morning. I ran to my sisters' and my parents' rooms. Buddy followed me and then we went around the tree. My sisters even got Buddy some presents. He got treats, a fluffy bed, and a snowman costume. He instantly jumped up for a treat then started eating it on his new bed. That was the best Christmas I've had for a while. I hoped you liked my story.

First Day at Portola

My first day at Portola in sixth grade I was really nervous because I didn't know any one. I wasn't good at opening my locker and I wasn't used to having different classes for each subject. I had the the same teacher for homeroom, science, and math and the same english and history teacher. My teachers were nice but a little strict. I still liked them overall though. It was easy but I had to get used to everybody. I met some kids in my class and we became friends. Over time I got more used to the flow of things and it got easier. My least favorite subject was history, our teacher made us do a lot of notes and I don't like writing. Math and science was still easy for me though. Every thing was going fine and I loved here, I had gotten used to everything and everyone. My grades were good but I had a B in english and history. I raised my grade up before Honor Roll though. I got a 4.0 GPA and all E's, I got a medal and a certificate. It was good but I had to wait till the end because I was towards the end of the ceremony because I got a gold medal. I really enjoyed and had a great sixth grade year, and I hope I have a great seventh grade year too.
