Over the summer I went to Puerto Penasco, Mexico. When we got to the hotel it was pretty nice. We were pretty high up and we had two rooms next to each other. One of the rooms faced the beach so it looked really nice at sunset from the balcony. The beach was white and it was made of sea shells but it was surprisingly soft. On the way to the beach there was a lot of long, shallow puddles that went far then emptied into the beach. The water was pretty clear and there were hundreds of little fish in the shore. The pools had salt instead of chlorine and we went swimming at night because it was too cold at the beach. My sisters got henna tattoos there and I got a dragon on my arm. We also got these cool pottery that we painted and took home; it was fun but it took a long time. The food was really good, I'm part Mexican so I thought it tasted good. The long puddles had crabs going down stream and if you walked near them they scuttled around. I almost got grabbed by one then bird came down and got it because it had moved out of the water. We went on a boat to a small island and there were seals everywhere. We snorkeled and we canoed next to the sea lions. I really liked it and I would love to go again. I hope you like my blog.

My old school.
Hi my name is Josh, I'm going to be blogging about my old school. My old school was great and I loved it, and most of the teachers I got were really nice. My kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Martin, was really fun we did many cool projects. My first grade teacher,Mrs. Bermack, was like your typical teacher, kind but a little strict. My second grade teachers name was Mrs. Hansen, personally she was my least favorite teacher. She was nice on some occasions but she was usually grumpy and gave us a lot of homework. Now were getting to my favorite teachers;my third, fourth, and fifth teachers. My third grade teacher Mrs. Alpert was really nice and fun. We had reading area with beanbags and a lot of different types of books. At my school we had different leveled books that went from one to eight the average level most of the kids in my class were reading were 3.2 to 4.1. Mrs. Alpert encouraged us to read a lot and thats when I started trying to read higher level books than other kids in my class my teacher noticed and encouraged me to keep going a little higher each time. By the end of the year I had started reading 5.5 and higher. My fourth grade teacher Mrs. G (she had a long name that I can't remember), was strict and mean if you didn't behave but if you were good she was fun and kind. We had check books and every time we brought all our homework, raised our hands, answered questions, were good, etc. We got money. Not real money but we could use it for things in our class, like we had to pay five dollars to go to the bathroom or drink water. If you didn't behave she took money and if you had saved a lot of money every month she put a bunch of toys and other things on the table we could buy. Now my fifth grade teacher Mrs. Greene, was my favorite. She did the checkbook thing and the store to ,but hers was better. When winter started she put hot chocolate in the store. If we bought it we could save it and have hot chocolate when ever we chose but we could only use it once. Whenever we took big tests if we got 100% she would buy us one drink from Starbucks during recess so we could drink it in class after. On fridays we had fun friday, if we turned in our homework everyday we could participate. On fun fridays mrs. G's class did it to so since the classes were next to each other the kids who didn't participate had to go next doors to do the homework they didn't turn in. The kids in the other class that were participating came to our class. We could use our devices, play on the computers, draw, and play outside. This was only for the last 45 minutes of class and sometimes we would watch movies in the class instead of playing and we could eat snacks. Every day before we walked in to the class she checked that we had all our homework and if we did she gave us a red ticket. Every two weeks we had a raffle and every two months we had the golden raffle which if we saved our ticket we could trade ten for one golden. You could use it or save it for next time to use more for a better chance. My friend Nick and I would save to get three each then we would participate. If you won you could pick one person and Mrs. Greene would buy us food. We could choose either: pizza, McDonalds, Taco bell, and In-N-Out. When either of us won we would pick each other, I won twice and he won three times. At the end of every semester we had Honor roll and AR, Accelerated Reading,. For AR it was a website where we had to take a test on any book every week but we couldn't do the same one again. At the end of the year they looked at your scores and if you got 85% or higher every time you got the medal and lunch with the principal. We either got a McChicken or a Cheeseburger with fries and a Capri-sun. We left class 20 minutes early and had a longer lunch. That's all I have for today I hope you liked it!
