My First Time Laser Tagging
It was my first time laser tagging and I thought it was really fun, but I wasn't really good at it. I kept turning corners and my vest would vibrate, I knew I had been shot. I didn't do good I got shot so much I could barely shoot. I still like it though, it was fun. I recently went laser tagging with my friends and I did really good, but it didn't make much sense to me. I hadn't been practicing or anything. There were a lot of really skilled players that played better than me but I wasn't far behind. I was above most of the people on my team and some from the other teams. We played a bunch more rounds it was really fun. We got out to the arcade area to wait, but we literally waited like two minutes and they just called us back in. I kept getting frustrated though, not because I wasn't doing good but I couldn't pass my score I kept getting the same thing. I didn't even really go under it either. Overall I really enjoyed it.

My first time at Disneyland
I was like five-years old and it was almost Christmas. On Christmas Eve we we were going to Disneyland. I was excited and couldn't wait because it was my first time going. I knew I would like it but I didn't like roller coasters that much. We went on them and I was scared but then I got used to it and they became fun instead of scary. When I went on Space Mountain I was scared but the second time around I loved it. We ate there, but I didn't really like the food. So now I just take snacks so I wasn't starving not and eat something better after we leave the park. This was the same for most of the rides. We got a bunch of stuff from the gift shops and we stayed the whole day. I was really tired after, but I didn't care because I had so much fun. Now I love going to Disneyland every year for Christmas Eve and for my birthday.

Getting My Dog
About four years ago I got a dog. It was almost Christmas and I really wanted a dog. I told my parents I wanted one for Christmas. On Christmas Eve my sisters came home around 8:00 P.M. When I saw what they had I was instantly overjoyed. It was a golden retriever mix, but I don't know the other dog. It was a boy and he was kind of small, not tiny just small. I named him Buddy and I didn't want to leave him to sleep. So I snuck him into my bed when my mom was in her room. He is allowed in the house, but not on the beds or couches. I woke up to him licking my face on Christmas morning. I ran to my sisters' and my parents' rooms. Buddy followed me and then we went around the tree. My sisters even got Buddy some presents. He got treats, a fluffy bed, and a snowman costume. He instantly jumped up for a treat then started eating it on his new bed. That was the best Christmas I've had for a while. I hoped you liked my story.

First Day at Portola
My first day at Portola in sixth grade I was really nervous because I didn't know any one. I wasn't good at opening my locker and I wasn't used to having different classes for each subject. I had the the same teacher for homeroom, science, and math and the same english and history teacher. My teachers were nice but a little strict. I still liked them overall though. It was easy but I had to get used to everybody. I met some kids in my class and we became friends. Over time I got more used to the flow of things and it got easier. My least favorite subject was history, our teacher made us do a lot of notes and I don't like writing. Math and science was still easy for me though. Every thing was going fine and I loved here, I had gotten used to everything and everyone. My grades were good but I had a B in english and history. I raised my grade up before Honor Roll though. I got a 4.0 GPA and all E's, I got a medal and a certificate. It was good but I had to wait till the end because I was towards the end of the ceremony because I got a gold medal. I really enjoyed and had a great sixth grade year, and I hope I have a great seventh grade year too.

Over the summer I went to Puerto Penasco, Mexico. When we got to the hotel it was pretty nice. We were pretty high up and we had two rooms next to each other. One of the rooms faced the beach so it looked really nice at sunset from the balcony. The beach was white and it was made of sea shells but it was surprisingly soft. On the way to the beach there was a lot of long, shallow puddles that went far then emptied into the beach. The water was pretty clear and there were hundreds of little fish in the shore. The pools had salt instead of chlorine and we went swimming at night because it was too cold at the beach. My sisters got henna tattoos there and I got a dragon on my arm. We also got these cool pottery that we painted and took home; it was fun but it took a long time. The food was really good, I'm part Mexican so I thought it tasted good. The long puddles had crabs going down stream and if you walked near them they scuttled around. I almost got grabbed by one then bird came down and got it because it had moved out of the water. We went on a boat to a small island and there were seals everywhere. We snorkeled and we canoed next to the sea lions. I really liked it and I would love to go again. I hope you like my blog.

My old school.
Hi my name is Josh, I'm going to be blogging about my old school. My old school was great and I loved it, and most of the teachers I got were really nice. My kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Martin, was really fun we did many cool projects. My first grade teacher,Mrs. Bermack, was like your typical teacher, kind but a little strict. My second grade teachers name was Mrs. Hansen, personally she was my least favorite teacher. She was nice on some occasions but she was usually grumpy and gave us a lot of homework. Now were getting to my favorite teachers;my third, fourth, and fifth teachers. My third grade teacher Mrs. Alpert was really nice and fun. We had reading area with beanbags and a lot of different types of books. At my school we had different leveled books that went from one to eight the average level most of the kids in my class were reading were 3.2 to 4.1. Mrs. Alpert encouraged us to read a lot and thats when I started trying to read higher level books than other kids in my class my teacher noticed and encouraged me to keep going a little higher each time. By the end of the year I had started reading 5.5 and higher. My fourth grade teacher Mrs. G (she had a long name that I can't remember), was strict and mean if you didn't behave but if you were good she was fun and kind. We had check books and every time we brought all our homework, raised our hands, answered questions, were good, etc. We got money. Not real money but we could use it for things in our class, like we had to pay five dollars to go to the bathroom or drink water. If you didn't behave she took money and if you had saved a lot of money every month she put a bunch of toys and other things on the table we could buy. Now my fifth grade teacher Mrs. Greene, was my favorite. She did the checkbook thing and the store to ,but hers was better. When winter started she put hot chocolate in the store. If we bought it we could save it and have hot chocolate when ever we chose but we could only use it once. Whenever we took big tests if we got 100% she would buy us one drink from Starbucks during recess so we could drink it in class after. On fridays we had fun friday, if we turned in our homework everyday we could participate. On fun fridays mrs. G's class did it to so since the classes were next to each other the kids who didn't participate had to go next doors to do the homework they didn't turn in. The kids in the other class that were participating came to our class. We could use our devices, play on the computers, draw, and play outside. This was only for the last 45 minutes of class and sometimes we would watch movies in the class instead of playing and we could eat snacks. Every day before we walked in to the class she checked that we had all our homework and if we did she gave us a red ticket. Every two weeks we had a raffle and every two months we had the golden raffle which if we saved our ticket we could trade ten for one golden. You could use it or save it for next time to use more for a better chance. My friend Nick and I would save to get three each then we would participate. If you won you could pick one person and Mrs. Greene would buy us food. We could choose either: pizza, McDonalds, Taco bell, and In-N-Out. When either of us won we would pick each other, I won twice and he won three times. At the end of every semester we had Honor roll and AR, Accelerated Reading,. For AR it was a website where we had to take a test on any book every week but we couldn't do the same one again. At the end of the year they looked at your scores and if you got 85% or higher every time you got the medal and lunch with the principal. We either got a McChicken or a Cheeseburger with fries and a Capri-sun. We left class 20 minutes early and had a longer lunch. That's all I have for today I hope you liked it!
